There are venues that feel beautiful… and then there are venues that feel transporting.
And a Monserate Winery wedding is exactly that.
Monserate Vineyard & Winery in Fallbrook, California instantly shifts the atmosphere—terracotta rooftops, sprawling vineyards, and quiet lakeside corners that feel like an old-world escape tucked into the hills of North San Diego County.
So when we created this editorial, we designed it to feel like a getaway. Not just a wedding day—but a story unfolding slowly across an estate that doesn’t simply host celebrations… it holds them.
Even better, Loverly published this shoot, capturing the full experience of our multi-day, spring-inspired vision.
This Monserate Winery wedding editorial was designed as a modern spring story—sculptural, fashion-forward, and intentionally restrained.
Monserate Winery Wedding Design: Sculptural Spring Meets Fashion
We wanted this editorial to feel fresh and architectural—not overly sweet, and definitely not traditional.
Instead, we focused on sculptural florals, editorial silhouettes, bold negative space, and intentional placement. The result felt elevated because it stayed thoughtfully restrained… and then surprised you in all the right moments.
Our palette lived in the world of spring, but with a grounded edge:
sage green
dusty blue
earthy orange
ivory
vibrant spring tones layered in with intention
Ultimately, every detail felt textured, dimensional, and artful—like a still life you could step into.
A Wedding Told in Scenes
One of the things I love most about Monserate is that it naturally lends itself to a full wedding experience. Every corner of the property feels cinematic, and every backdrop creates the opportunity for a new moment.
This editorial unfolded like a multi-day celebration:
An ethereal outdoor ceremony
One of the reasons I love Monserate is how naturally it supports a full wedding experience. Every corner feels cinematic. Plus, every backdrop creates the opportunity for a new moment.
This editorial unfolded like a multi-day celebration:
An ethereal outdoor ceremony
To begin, we reimagined the ceremony design by removing every other chair. As a result, the aisle felt airy, woven, and effortlessly editorial.
From there, oversized floral elements and a dramatic sculptural installation added depth—leading to a striking floral sculpture that anchored the end of the aisle.
A candlelit reception
Then, we shifted the mood into candlelight—intimate, elevated, and layered with refined textures.
One of my favorite details? A large-format, rectilinear cake that ran the full length of the table. It doubled as dessert and an experiential centerpiece, which made the reception feel design-forward without feeling overdone.
A lakeside picnic
Finally, we created a softer contrast to the architecture and scale of the estate. We styled a lakeside picnic scene that felt romantic, layered, and quiet—almost like the couple slipped away from the party for something private, slow, and beautiful.
Bridal Fashion as a Design Element
Fashion wasn’t just part of this editorial—it became the heartbeat.
We featured three couture bridal gowns:
Lee Petra Grebenau
Lihi Hod
Naeem Khan
Each look echoed the design story through clean lines, sculptural silhouettes, and softness with structure.
Meanwhile, the groom’s looks from Friar Tux grounded the styling with timeless tailoring—classic, polished, and confident.
Why We Love Monserate Winery Weddings
Monserate holds a kind of quiet grandeur—the kind that doesn’t need to shout.
The estate sits in the scenic hills of North County San Diego, surrounded by vineyards, lakes, and stately trees. At the same time, the architecture brings a romantic, European-inspired feeling that makes the entire setting feel elevated and effortless.
Couples can choose from multiple private venue settings, including:
The Tuscan Estate (capacity 200)
Villa de Fiore (capacity 250)
Monte Bella (capacity 250, coming Spring 2026)
Monserate also offers thoughtful built-in structure, which we love for both aesthetics and execution:
access to suites beginning at 10am
5 hours of event time, plus 4 hours of vendor setup and a 1 hour tear down window
chairs and banquet tables included as well as extensive catering packages
